Journalism

Writing has always been a part of who I am, and what my life is about. Writing is somewhere where you can really express who you are. When you pick up a pen, you have the power to do what you want.

I used to write for blogs, newspapers, magazines. I've been begged to even do radio shows and to try internet TV. I retired from journalism a while ago. Sure I write once a week for one of my friend's magazines but that about it. Writing should be done on your own terms, based on your rules. Trying to fit creativity into a box does not work for me. Nowadays news is what the anchors read off, it's what the workaholic staff in the news room come up with, what they think is important. Writing is something that each of us does differently in different styles and one size fit all dosen't work for the majority of us.

How do you express yourself?

Rent Soundtrack

The rent soundtrack is amazing. With eight amazing people singing about life in the lower east side and the impact of AIDS makes this a CD to remember. It makes you want to reflect about life and how lucky we are. This amazing CD is also a tribute to Jonathan Larson, the creator of the hit musical RENT, who died days before the first performance on Broadway. I would recomend the RENT CD to anyone that loves music. Like in seasons in love, how do you measure your life?.......

525,600 Minutes

Rent the Musical, talks about a group of friends in the Lower east side. In the movie, and the broadway version they have a song called "seasons of love". In the song they sing about 525,600 minutes in a year, and how amazing each moment each one. I love the meaning of the song. Imagine ever minute you spend in your life, enjoying it, and hoping for the next one.........That's the power of love, and that's what they sing so much about in seasons of love...........................

Live 8 DVD

Live 8 was a special time in history. Now you can own the highlights of the Live 8 Concerts on DVD. I picked up my copy at Target for only 24.99. Live 8 for me shows how can one person(Bob Geldolf) start something to change the world forever. 1,000 performers(Paul Mccartney, U2), Countless Celebrities(Jack Nickelson) and even Bill Gates come out to tell the 8 men of the G8 to save the people dying of extreme poverty around the world. 8 men, 1 room can change the world forever. Live 8 showed how we the citizens of the world can unite and scream loud enough to get the G8's attention. We can change the world for the better. Everyone of us pitches in a little and it goes a long way. Because of the concert there will be 50 billion U.S dollars of aid towards fighting povery, and if the G8 gives that money then 13,000 children will be saved a day and 600,000 people will not die from malaria in africa. Power to the people was shown on that fateful day: July 2nd, 2004. 9 concerts. 2 million specators. 3 Billion Viewers. Live 8.

A Seventh Grade Life

Seventh Grade for me, Is very busy. I'm still trying to find the perfect balance between the arts(school play and orchestra), athletics(Cross-Country, Track)and Academics. Add in things like Chinese school, violin lessons and a 1 and a half hour commute to my school everyday and life suddenly gets busy. But I Try to find time to enjoy myself. Like biking, watching a half hour of Television, reading the paper, running etc. When your life gets busy it makes you reflect on how you treasure the precious time you have. Life in my view is never a life worth living if you don't enjoy it. I find time in my schedrule to have fun, and I think everyone should do the same. It also I've learned makes you work harder, if you work harder towards a goal. It could be a simple as I'm going to jog 2 miles this weekend, or I'm going to the movies with my friends. But it's something to look foward to.
